Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA ( onsite ) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design high-speed digital circuit card assemblies for secure communications. You will work across tightly coupled teams to drive design, verification, and manufacturing readiness.

You will apply expertise in PCB design, SI/PI, and DFM/DFT while collaborating with systems, software, and mechanical engineers. U.S. citizenship and clearance eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Expertise in digital design for multilayer PCBs (12+ layers) with DFM/DFT and controlled impedance design.
• End-to-end circuit card development from concept through verification and test.
• Proficiency with PCB design tools like Xpedition, Cadence Allegro, or Altium Designer.
• SI/PI analysis experience with tools such as HyperLynx, ADS, or SPICE.
• STEM degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Electronic Circuit Design: design high-speed CCAs from requirements through production.
• SI/PI Optimization: validate and optimize signal and power integrity.
• Design Optimization: apply DTC, DFM, DFT for producible designs.
• Hardware Verification & Test Support: DVT, QA testing, RCA analysis.
• Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration: interface with Systems, Software, and Mechanical teams.
