Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Avionics Development Technician to design, build, and maintain hardware supporting HITL and flight avionics projects. You will assemble test systems, harnesses, and PCBAs, rework boards, and document test setups under engineer direction.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in wire harnesses or electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, and hands-on experience with DMMs, oscilloscopes, and test equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of experience manufacturing wire harnesses or electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
• 2+ years of experience using electronics equipment (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, DAQs, etc.)
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience debugging and root-causing failures on PCBs.
• Experience with PCBA soldering including 0402 packages and high-density ICs.
• Experience with Atlassian tools including SVN, Confluence, and JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Build test systems, electromechanical assemblies, and test fixtures
• Design and build electrical harnessing for flight avionics test and qualification
• Perform rework on PCBs
• Design and document test systems and wiring diagrams
• Interpret engineering documentation and support design verification
• Read and follow assembly procedures, schematics, BOMs, and drawings
• Self-monitor progress and ensure on-time delivery
• Assist in development of production processes for first-time production runs
• Support qualification test campaigns by setting up tests and running software
