Granbury ISD is seeking an AVID Tutor to guide students toward academic and personal excellence beyond their high school years. Tutors actively participate in learning, growth, and development of students, with a focus on AVID methodologies.

The role emphasizes collaboration with AVID staff, mentoring, and fostering independent learning while supporting college prep and study skills for assigned students.

Qualifications

• Education: Strong math and/or English background.
• Desire to make a difference in students’ lives.
• Previous AVID student preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a role model/mentor for AVID students.
• Collaborate with AVID coordinator and teachers.
• Facilitate AVID tutorial process and methodologies.
• Identify concepts to focus tutoring sessions from worksheets and discussions.
• Guide independent learning while supporting student strategies.
• Assist students across subjects with AVID resources.
• Evaluate student binders, calendars, notes, and logs.
• Support study skills and college preparation.
