Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current College Student (with minimum 2.50 GPA) or retired teacher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate small group tutorials within the AVID elective class using AVID methodologies.
• Provide evaluation of tutorial session to student and AVID elective teacher.
• Assist teacher with tutorial preparation.
• Evaluate student binders weekly.
• Serve as a role model to students.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Communicate frequently and honestly with the AVID elective teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern.
• Complete 16 hours of tutor training.
• Participate in AVID field trips, motivational activities and site team meetings as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or coordinator.
