Job summary

Orange County Schools seeks a part-time AVID Tutor to support middle school students in Hillsborough, NC. You will work in person at assigned schools, guiding small groups through AVID WICOR strategies and helping students build academic skills.

Tutor training and ongoing support are provided. Starting date is Immediate, with a 10-month school year for students and a flexible 15–25 hours per week schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Desire to work with children and serve your community by extending AVID programming in your local school district.
• Demonstrated interest in working with middle school students.
• Willingness to learn and implement AVID strategies and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Support AVID students with AVID strategies (WICOR) and participate in tutorials.
• Work with small groups of AVID Elective students to strengthen academic skills.
• Collaborate with the AVID Coordinator and teachers to support student success.
• Be a positive, professional role model and attend AVID training.
