Job summary

IAT Insurance Group is hiring an Associate Underwriter in its Aviation Business Unit, with locations in Scottsdale, AZ or Alpharetta, GA. This entry-level program offers structured mentorship and exposure to underwriting decisions while you build a foundation in risk evaluation.

In this hybrid role, you’ll work in office Mon-Wed and remotely Thu-Fri, develop communication and analytical skills, and contribute to pricing, documentation, and agency relationships as you grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent applicable experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate information to determine risk acceptability, price, and document decisions.
• Make appropriate underwriting and pricing decisions based on evaluation.
• Communicate and negotiate underwriting and pricing decisions with agents.
• Document decisions per policy and regulatory standards.
• Build relationships with agency personnel and internal staff.
• Act with urgency on inquiries and requests.
• Provide unmatched customer service.
• Drive new business opportunities to assigned agents.
• Manage small territory with mentor oversight.
• Assist with reporting and project needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
