Job summary

IAT Insurance Group’s Aviation Business Unit seeks an Associate Underwriter for in-office locations Scottsdale, AZ, or Alpharetta, GA, starting June 1, 2027. The program is designed to build a strong underwriting foundation with mentorship and hands-on learning while gaining exposure to risk assessment.

The role requires a four-year degree (or equivalent experience), willingness to travel, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent applicable experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate information to determine risk acceptability, price, and document decisions.
• Make decisions based on evaluation of information.
• Communicate underwriting and pricing decisions to agents and internal staff.
• Document decisions per unit practices and regulatory standards.
• Build relationships with agency personnel and internal teams.
• Communicate with urgency and provide strong customer service.
• Support new business opportunities with assigned agents.
• Assist with reporting and project needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
