IAT Insurance Group's Aviation Business Unit has an opening for an Associate Underwriter in Scottsdale, AZ or Alpharetta, GA starting June 1, 2027. The program is designed to build a strong underwriting foundation with mentor support in a hybrid office environment.

The role suits someone early in their career, offering exposure to risk evaluation, pricing decisions, and collaboration with agents while developing reporting and project skills.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
• Equivalent experience defined as 4 years in insurance.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Excellent oral and written communication; leadership and organization.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate information to determine risk acceptability, price, and document decisions.
• Make appropriate decisions based on evaluation of information.
• Communicate and negotiate underwriting and pricing decisions to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Document decisions in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards.
• Build effective working relationships with agency personnel and internal staff.
• Act with urgency on inquiries/requests.
• Provide unmatched customer service.
• Drive new business opportunities to assigned agents.
• Manage small territory with mentor oversight.
• Assist with various reporting and project needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
