Job summary

The Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Tool Room Clerk to ensure a safe, productive learning environment by controlling tools, equipment, and supplies used by students and faculty.

Key duties include issuing, inspecting, and maintaining tools; managing safety programs; tracking inventory; and recording issued items and returns, with a focus on OSHA compliance and classroom readiness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• At least three years in a position requiring use of hand tools and equipment similar to that found in an aircraft repair shop.
• Basic computer skills including keyboarding, e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Exhibits a positive, team-oriented attitude and flexibility to work outside scheduled hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently issue, track, inspect, and maintain tools, equipment, and supplies ensuring functionality and safety for students and staff.
• Implement and oversee safety programs, tool inspections, calibrations, and maintenance per OSHA regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels, report shortages and lost/damaged tools, and ensure availability for class projects.
• Assemble and issue tools and materials for class projects; record issuance and returns.
