Job summary

Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Houston, TX seeks a Tool Room Clerk to manage tools, equipment, and supplies in the school lab. You will issue, track, inspect, and maintain items used by students and faculty to ensure a safe, efficient learning environment.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety programs, calibrations, and OSHA compliance, monitoring inventories, and documenting tool usage for class projects. This role supports project readiness and accurate record keeping.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least three years using hand tools and equipment similar to aircraft repair shop.
• Basic computer skills: keyboarding, e-mail, word processor, spreadsheets.
• Flexible attitude to work outside scheduled hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Issue, track, inspect, and maintain tools and equipment for students and faculty.
• Oversee safety programs, inspections, calibrations, and OSHA compliance.
• Monitor inventory, report shortages, and record tool usage and returns.
• Assemble tools for class projects and record issuance and returns to individuals.
• Generate Lost Tool Report and submit to Director of Education.
• Maintain tool inspection and calibration programs for safe operation.
• Maintain records of calibration and maintenance of training equipment.
• Ensure adequate tools and materials for class projects and report shortages.
