Job summary

West Star Aviation in Cedar Hill, TX is seeking a Teardown & Evaluation Technician to perform disassembly, inspection, and maintenance support for aviation components in accordance with FAA data and manufacturer specs. You will use precision tools and document findings to maintain traceability and quality.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, aviation maintenance experience, and a focus on safety and accuracy. FAA A&P is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree in aviation or maintenance preferred.
• FAA A&P certification beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform teardown and disassembly of aircraft components using hand tools.
• Remove parts and hardware per manuals and FAA regulations.
• Maintain identification and traceability of removed hardware and components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, IPCs, and maintenance manuals.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect tolerances.
• Document damaged components in repair tracking systems.
