Chattahoochee Technical College seeks a part-time Aviation Structures Adjunct Instructor to deliver instruction in the Aviation Structures/Composites program under the Aviation Program Director. The role requires supervising labs, ensuring safety and applying the college's curriculum and teaching methods.

The candidate should have a Diploma or equivalent in Aircraft Structures, or 5+ years in aircraft structures within a manufacturing or MRO environment, and may hold an Airframe License or FAA

Qualifications

• Must have Aircraft Structures knowledge and relevant licensure or diploma.
• Experience in manufacturing or MRO environments is preferred.
• FAA mechanic certs or NC3-like credentials can be beneficial.
• Experience teaching or training in aviation structures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Instructs in Aviation Structures and Composites under the Aviation Program Director.
• Delivers engaging face-to-face, online and lab instruction per curriculum.
• Ensures safety compliance with EPA and OSHA standards in labs.
• Collaborates with program director, dean and faculty to reach department goals.
• Advises students and supports recruitment and retention efforts for the program.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION:

Structures Instructor– Part Time Position

QUICK LOOK:

Under supervision of the Aviation Program Director, this position is responsible for all aspects of instruction in the Aviation Structures program

• The Adjunct instructor will work with the full time Chatt Tech instructor on delivering instructional material for the Aviation Structures / Composites program.
• Implements instructional delivery that is stimulating, thought provoking and engaging to students in face-to-face, online and lab settings according to Chatt Tech’s curriculum and teaching methods.
• Oversees safety compliance including safe lab practices per EPA regulations and OSHA standards.
• Instructors will work with the Aviation Program Director, the Dean and other faculty members and academic leadership to meet department, division and college goals.
• Program director will advise students and promote recruitment and retention efforts for the Aviation Structures Program.

NOTE: Adjunct Instructor positions are part time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis. Therefore, your employment is limited and there is no expectation that your association with Chatt Tech will extend beyond this term.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Aircraft Structural Technology Diploma

OR

Five + years working on aircraft structures in a

manufacturing or MRO environment

• OR
• Airframe License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings or just an Airframe License, but not required

Appropriate Industry Certifications as NC3 or others

Working knowledge and experience with teaching in Structures preferably with a MRO environment.

Working knowledge and proven experience in program assessments

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Salary–$40.00 per hour. There are no State Benefits. Please be aware that all Chattahoochee Technical College employees must be paid by DIRECT DEPOSIT unless exempted by the State Accounting Office based on “hardship” evidence provided by the employee.
