Chattahoochee Technical College is seeking an Aviation Maintenance Instructor—Part Time to lead General, Airframe and Powerplant instruction under the Aviation Program Director at the NEW Aviation Academy Campus near Paulding County Airport. FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings is required.

Preferred: experience as an aviation maintenance technician and an associate degree or higher.

Qualifications

• Experience as aviation maintenance technician (preferred).
• Associate degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance or related field.
• Working knowledge of teaching in Aviation Maintenance (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Instructs General, Airframe and Powerplant courses under FAA requirements.
• Ensures safety compliance in labs and hangar per EPA and OSHA.
• Delivers engaging instruction for in-person, online and lab settings.
• May require night classes and work hours at the new Aviation Academy Campus.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: Aviation Maintenance Instructor—Part Time Position

NOTE: Lab Tutor positions are part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis. Therefore, your employment is limited, and there is no expectation that your association with Chattahoochee Tech will be extended beyond this term.

QUICK LOOK:

Under supervision of the Aviation Program Director, this position is responsible for all aspects of instruction in the Aviation Maintenance programs, including General, Airframe and Powerplant curriculum.

• Complies with FAA regulation in all aspects of Aviation programs and continuance activities.
• Assists in teaching all courses in the Aviation Maintenance curriculum.
• Oversees safety compliance including safe lab and hangar practices per EPA regulations and OSHA standards.
• Develops and implements instructional delivery that meets FAA requirements and is stimulating, thought provoking and engaging to students in face-to-face, online and lab settings.
• This position is a part time position located on our NEW Aviation Academy Campus at the Paulding County Airport.
• This position may require work hours that align with our night classes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working as an aviation maintenance technician
• Associate Degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance or related field
• Working knowledge and experience with teaching in Aviation Maintenance
• Working knowledge and proven experience in program assessments
• FAA Inspection Authorization

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary is $50/Hr. with maximum of 22hrs worked per week. There are no State Benefits. Please be aware that all Chattahoochee Technical College employees must be paid by DIRECT DEPOSIT unless exempted by the State Accounting Office based on “hardship” evidence provided by the employee.
