Job summary

Atlanta Technical College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor (Aviation) in the Academic and Student Affairs division, Industrial & Transportation Technologies department. • Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seekinga knowledgeable and dedicated candidatefor its Adjunct Instructor (Aviation) position in the Academic and Student Affairs division, Industrial & Transportation Technologies department.This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s Main campus, just South of downtown Atlanta, Ga.

Under general supervision of the Dean of Industrial and Transportation Technologies, the Adjunct Instructor (Aviation) provides professional instruction to students in accordance with an approved course syllabus, ensuring that course outcomes align with stated objectives. The instructor also prepares curriculum materials and syllabi for assigned coursework.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited tothe following:

• Demonstrates knowledge of current procedures in the aviation field.
• Adheres to FAA regulations governing Part 147 schools.
• Displays willingness to receive input and undergo internal review of processes and procedures used in the classroom.
• Use appropriate teaching techniques to engage groups of students in different activities simultaneously.
• Apply appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and other record-keeping.
• Monitors students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
• Attend meetings as required and appropriate.
• Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations.
• Observes and enforces FAA compliance requirements for approved programs.
• Assists with student recruitment and job placement as requested by supervisor.
• Serves on committees as requested by supervisors.
• Maintains professional qualifications as appropriate for the field and as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual.
• Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and
• Performing other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university AND three (3) or more years of related work experience. Two (2) or more years teaching in an educational setting is a plus.
