Job summary

Chattahoochee Technical College seeks an Avionics Instructor to join the Aviation program on a part-time basis. You will lead the Avionics Bench Technician课程, ensuring FAA regulatory compliance and delivering engaging instruction in lab, online, and face-to-face formats.

You will collaborate with the Aviation Program Director, Dean, and faculty to promote student success, safety, and program growth. Prior teaching experience in Avionics and related industry certifications are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Aircraft Electronics / Avionics Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Five+ years in Avionics / Aircraft Electronics preferred.
  • Associate Degree in Avionics or Aircraft Electronics is a plus.
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with A&P ratings considered a strong asset.
  • FCC license and additional industry certifications are welcome.
  • Experience teaching Avionics and program assessments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct in the Avionics Bench Technician program under the Aviation Program Director.
  • Ensure FAA regulation compliance across aviation curriculum and activities.
  • Develop engaging instructional delivery for in-person, online, and lab settings.
  • Oversee safety in labs per EPA and OSHA standards; support budget management.
  • Collaborate with Dean, faculty, and leadership to meet college goals.
  • Advise students and support recruitment and retention for the program.
  • Position may be located temporarily on a CTC campus.

Associate Degree in Avionics or Aircraft Electronics

Job Description:

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: Avionics Instructor – Part Time Position

NOTE: Lab Tutor positions are part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis. Therefore, your employment is limited, and there is no expectation that your association with Chattahoochee Tech will be extended beyond this term.

QUICK LOOK:

Under supervision of the Aviation Program Director, this position is responsible for all aspects of instruction in the Avionics Bench Technician program

  • Complies with FAA regulation in all aspects of Aviation programs and continuance activities.
  • Develops and implements instructional delivery that is stimulating, thought provoking and engaging to students in face-to-face, online and lab settings.
  • Oversees safety compliance including safe lab practices per EPA regulations and OSHA standards.
  • With the Aviation Program Director, manages the program budget and other fiscal resources.
  • Instructors will work with the Aviation Program Director, the Dean and other faculty members and academic leadership to meet department, division and college goals.
  • Program director will advise students and promote recruitment and retention efforts for the Avionics Program.
  • Position will be temporarily located on a CTC campus until the facility is complete.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Aircraft Electronics / Avionics Certificate OR Five + years working in Avionics / Aircraft Electronics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate Degree in Avionics or Aircraft Electronics
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • FCC license
  • Appropriate Industry Certifications
  • Working knowledge and experience with teaching in Avionics
  • Working knowledge and proven experience in program assessments

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary is $50/Hr. with maximum of 22hrs worked per week. There are no State Benefits. Please be aware that all Chattahoochee Technical College employees must be paid by DIRECT DEPOSIT unless exempted by the State Accounting Office based on “hardship” evidence provided by the employee.
