Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Software Quality Engineer to oversee software and hardware quality for a high-profile aviation program. You will ensure DO-178C compliance, conduct audits, review artifacts, and support supplier quality activities.

The role requires embedded aviation software expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with systems engineers, software developers, and test teams to deliver safe, reliable, and certifiable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, CE, SE or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in Systems Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering.
• Hands-on DO-178C experience with supplements.

Responsibilities

• Audit software and hardware processes across the development lifecycle.
• Review, monitor, and approve engineering work products, release packages, and docs.
• Participate in software and hardware reviews and quality assessments.
• Prepare SQA reports, findings, and status updates.
• Conduct supplier audits and oversee supplier deliverables and compliance.
• Witness testing to ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, test teams, and leadership.
• Mentor teams on quality processes, standards, and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to development processes and quality requirements.
• Support continuous process improvement initiatives and best practices.
• Learn program-specific audit procedures and workflows.
• Work independently in a cross-functional environment.
