Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Engineer Systems Test focused on aviation safety for our Test and Evaluation team in Palmdale and Edwards AFB, CA. The role involves delivering safety products, leading Mishap Response activities, and coordinating safety audits to ensure compliance with DCMA 8210-1D.

The candidate will develop and maintain training materials, support safety council meetings, and liaise with the Government Flight Representative.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 5+ years professional/military experience OR Master’s in STEM with 3+ years OR STEM PhD with 1+ year.
• Active US Government Secret clearance (or higher) with background check within 6 years or in Continuous Evaluation.
• Ability to obtain SAP clearance and work with aviation safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safety products to comply with DCMA 8210-1D.
• Develop and maintain Mishap Response Plan for ground and air incidents.
• Lead safety audits and Mishap drills; coordinate safety trainings and publications.
• Act as liaison with Government Flight Representative and Aviation Safety Council.
• Develop training materials and speak to peers and supervisors on safety issues.
