Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Engineer Systems Test - Aviation Safety Official to join our Test and Evaluation team onsite at Palmdale and Edwards AFB, CA. The role offers deep involvement in aviation safety programs, Mishap Response, and cross-team risk management for complex aerospace projects.
The position requires a STEM degree with extensive related experience and an active security clearance; salary ranges reflect top-tier aerospace industry
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with 5+ years of related professional/military experience, or a Master’s in STEM with 3+ years, or a STEM PhD with 1+ year.
- Active US Government Secret clearance (or higher) with recent investigation or Continuous Evaluation.
- Background in aviation operations and experience with DCMA 8210 and aviation safety programs.
Responsibilities
- Advise on aviation safety matters for the program.
- Develop Mishap Response Plans for ground and air emergencies.
- Maintain aviation mishap statistics and support investigations.
- Coordinate semi-annual safety audits and publish safety materials.
- Lead SMSP/T&E safety activities and train staff.
- Represent the company in Aviation Safety meetings and risk reviews.
