Job summary
Northrop Grumman Corp. in Palmdale and Edwards AFB, CA, has an opening for a Principal or Senior Principal Engineer Systems Test - Aviation Safety Official to join our Test and Evaluation team onsite.
The role requires a STEM degree and substantial aviation safety experience, active Secret clearance, and the ability to obtain SAP clearance. You will advise on safety, develop Mishap Response Plans, conduct safety audits, and lead training initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related experience OR MS with 3+ years OR PhD with 1+ year.
- Active US Government Secret clearance or higher with recent background investigation or Continuous Evaluation
- Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance
- Background in aviation operations dealing with aircraft
- Experience with DCMA 8210
- Experience with Aviation Safety, Aviation Safety Management System, and/or Aviation Safety Official
- Ability to develop training materials and instruct formal courses
Responsibilities
- Advise the program on aviation safety matters.
- Develop and maintain Mishap Response Plans and safety procedures.
- Maintain aviation mishap statistics and support investigations.
- Coordinate safety audits and publish safety information.
- Lead safety training and champion SMS and SRM activities.
