Job summary

Montana Department of Transportation is seeking a Safety, Education & Registration Section Supervisor to oversee aviation education programs, training clinics and SAR coordination across the state.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus several years in aviation-related roles and supervisory experience. Travel statewide is required; flight hours <100 annually. MDT offers public service benefits and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science, Professional flight, Business, Education or related field; or 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3 years of related experience. 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer aviation education programs and policies.
• Coordinate aerial search and rescue training and clinics.
• Oversee volunteer network of pilots, district coordinators and observers.
