Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Spectrum Engineer to support the FAA Spectrum Engineering Services Group. The role focuses on planning and coordinating frequency assignments across CNS systems, ensuring conformance with FAA Orders, NTIA Redbook, and standard engineering practices.

The ideal candidate has a degree in electrical engineering or spectrum management training and 2+ years RF engineering experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and FAA software. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or formal spectrum management training.
  • 2+ years of spectrum/RF engineering experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn FAA-specific software and systems.
  • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain security clearance (Secret or higher).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute FAA spectrum actions per FAA Orders and NTIA Redbook.
  • Perform RF propagation, link-budget, EMC, and interference analyses using FAA tools.
  • Validate data: location, equipment, parameters, emission designator, power, bandwidth, antenna.
  • Collaborate with federal/contractor teams to resolve issues and advance records.
