Job summary

Leidos seeks an Electrical Engineer/Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to support the FAA Spectrum Engineering Services Group in Seattle, Denver, or Salt Lake City. The role involves RF spectrum analysis, interference mitigation, and field investigations with travel up to 50%.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 4+ years of RF experience, and must be a US citizen. Knowledge of spectrum management and regulatory frameworks is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in radio frequency (RF) engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one if required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and receive reports of radio frequency interference affecting NAS operations.
• Evaluate urgency and impact of RF interference reports.
• Conduct remote and on-site RF interference investigations using historical data and RF analysis tools.
• Perform on-site investigations with spectrum analyzers, direction finders, and portable antennas.
• Interpret technical data and apply mitigation to resolve RF interference with minimal NAS disruption.
• Coordinate with system users, engineering leads, and frequency managers.
• Prepare reports detailing findings and resolutions for senior management.
• Travel required for on-site RFI investigations within the Western Service Area.
