Job summary

United Ground Express at STL Louis Lambert International Airport is seeking a dedicated baggage handler to load and unload baggage, service aircraft interiors, and ensure timely preparation for the next flight. You will operate ground equipment, read load sheets, and comply with United and FAA regulations.

The role requires physical fitness to lift up to 70 lbs, valid driver’s license, and ability to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid US state driver's license with clean record.
• Credentials for position: fingerprint clearance, airport badge, background check.
• Complete pre-employment process including drug screen.
• Available to work any shift, weekends and holidays; overtime may be required.
• Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and new technologies.
• Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must maintain valid driver's license (not suspended/expired).

Responsibilities

• Lift baggage, boxes, or cargo weighing up to 70 lbs during shifts.
• Push/pull loaded and empty carts during loading/unloading operations.
• Ascend/descend jet-way stairs while carrying baggage.
• Move and stack cargo in aircraft by bending and stooping.
• Operate ground equipment like tugs and belt loaders.
• Clean aircraft interiors and service lavatories.
• Read load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labels.
• Prepare aircraft for the next flight.
• Ensure compliance with United and FAA regulations.
• Use radio devices to communicate with coworkers or flight crew.
• Work outdoors in all temperatures.
