Job summary

United Ground Express in Richmond, VA is seeking a Ground Service Agent to lift baggage, load cargo, and prepare aircraft for departure. You will push/pull carts, operate ground equipment, and clean aircraft interiors while following safety rules.

The role requires reading load sheets and baggage tags, working all shifts including nights, and obtaining required airport credentials. You will work outdoors in all weather and must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
• Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labels.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Available to work any shift, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lift baggage, boxes, or cargo weighing up to 70 lbs throughout the shift.
• Push/pull loaded and empty carts during loading/unloading operations.
• Drive ground equipment such as tugs and belt loaders as needed.
• Clean aircraft interior and service lavatories.
• Read and interpret load sheets and baggage tags.
• Prepare and secure aircraft for the next flight.
• Use radios to communicate with crew and teammates.
• Ensure compliance with United, TSA, DOT and FAA regulations.
• Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions.
