Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an Aircraft Inspector in Hagerstown, MD to act as a final authority on airworthiness. The role focuses on inspecting aircraft, avionics, and structural modifications to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality workmanship.

You will perform in-process and final inspections, review maintenance records, and support audits while collaborating with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to sustain safety and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance or related field preferred.
• FAA A&P Certificate required.
• Typically five (5) or more years of aircraft maintenance, repair, and inspection experience; higher degree may substitute.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, equipment, parts, and avionics integration.
• Experience inspecting structural modifications, repairs, and aircraft maintenance activities.
• Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specs.
• Strong understanding of FAA regulations and Part 145 Repair Station operations.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and MES.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of structural modifications, repairs, installations, and adjustments per approved drawings and data.
• Inspect avionics manufacturing, installation, integration, testing, wiring, and related systems.
• Verify compliance with FAA regulations, OEM specs, FAA Part 145 requirements, and company standards.
• Identify discrepancies and airworthiness issues; implement corrective actions.
• Exercise inspection authority for in-process inspections, final inspections, and approvals for return to service.
