Job description

Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Inspector to join their dynamic team. As an Aircraft Inspector IV, you will inspect aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure airworthiness and conformance to the manufacturer's specifications and government regulations. You\'ll identify breaches of airworthiness standards. Your inspection authority will include all in-process inspections, all final inspections, and approval for return to service of all work.

Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process inspections of aircraft, systems, equipment, and parts to verify airworthiness and conformance to manufacturer specifications and government regulations.
  • Conduct final inspections and authorize return to service of work as applicable.
  • Identify and document any deviations from airworthiness standards and regulations.
  • Communicate findings to relevant teams and contribute to continuous improvement of inspection processes.
Qualifications
  • Must-haves: Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
  • Thorough understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Preferred: Understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1; thorough understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations; Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation; experience with first article inspections; background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
Safety and Physical Requirements
  • Physical/mental/emotional requirements: frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs; repetitive hand/arm/finger motions; vision, hearing, and color discernment requirements.
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Working conditions: exposure to outdoor elements, fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials, and loud noises.
  • Safety Sensitive Position: responsible for safety or security of people or property; may handle explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials; inspects structures, equipment or vehicles; performs aviation-related duties; operates or supervises vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery.
