Job summary

WSP’s Aviation practice in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an Aviation Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex airport infrastructure projects across Northern California.

This role requires guiding multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, architects, and environmental specialists; managing scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing, and risk; and coordinating with airport authorities, airlines, FAA representatives, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, aviation management, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience managing complex infrastructure, transportation, aviation, airport development, or capital improvement projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams through design and construction.
• Strong project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and client relationship management.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning through closeout of complex airport infrastructure projects.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, architects, environmental specialists, and construction professionals.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and risk management strategies.
• Monitor project performance and report on schedule, budget, quality, risk, and milestones.
• Coordinate with airport authorities, airlines, FAA representatives, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate project meetings and manage communications with clients and internal teams.
• Manage project financial performance, resource utilization, and contract administration.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities and review technical deliverables and quality-control documentation.
• Identify and manage project risks and facilitate resolution of technical, operational, and stakeholder issues.
• Support business development efforts, proposal preparation, and client relationship management.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the continued growth of WSP's aviation practice.
• Participate in industry organizations, conferences, and networking activities as appropriate.
