Job summary

WSP is seeking a Vice President, Civil Engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area to lead multi-disciplinary teams on transit rail and infrastructure programs. You will provide technical direction, manage design and construction activities, and collaborate with clients and partners to deliver high-impact projects.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in civil engineering, licensure (CA PE preferred), and a proven record of leading complex projects, mentoring staff, and maintaining safety and QA/QC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering, civil, and infrastructure design.
• Engineer license required (CA PE preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with civil engineering principles, design/build, and permitting.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and program/construction management.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, and regulations.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for multi-sector providers, clients, and partners on transit rail and infrastructure programs.
• Lead design, concept development, planning, and construction for multi-modal transportation systems.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources; supervise subcontractors and staff.
• Ensure QA/QC, safety standards, and regulatory compliance across projects.
• Mentor staff and promote professional development within the team.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to address challenges and opportunities.
• Lead efforts in risk assessment, documentation, and reporting for projects.
