Job summary

Bell in Piney Flats, TN seeks a Project Engineer Specialist to lead new product development initiatives and manage stage-gate projects from concept to production. You will drive manufacturing start-up, tooling, process development, supplier coordination, and a smooth transition to production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience in project engineering, product development, and/or aircraft modifications.
• Experience in aerospace/aviation, aircraft completions, STC development preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects from concept through certification and into production, including schedule and budget management.
• Familiarity with stage-gate or similar product development methodologies and strong knowledge of aircraft structure and systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage new product development initiatives and related engineering projects, ensuring performance requirements are met within budget and schedule constraints.
• Manage projects through the complete stage-gate development cycle, maintaining adherence to best-practice methodologies.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects across cross-functional teams, overseeing engineering actions, status reporting, risk tracking, and gate reviews.
• Drive product development through manufacturing start-up, including tooling definition, process development, supplier coordination, and transition to production.
• Interface with internal departments and external customers to capture product performance requirements and translate them into clear statements of work for Design and Certification Engineering.
• Provide design support for new products and product improvements for aircraft systems, STC kits, and customized completions.
• Support design activities including preparation, review, and release of engineering drawings and documentation per Bell/AA/FAA standards.
• Coordinate schedules, budgets, supplier interfaces, and cross-functional activities for engineering programs.
