Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Project Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Denver, CO to support aviation infrastructure programs. The role involves assisting with project plans, schedules, and QA activities under supervision, gaining exposure to field work and documentation per contract requirements.

Ideal candidates are pursuing civil/architectural engineering or construction management, with 60+ ABET hours by Summer 2027, and prepared to work outdoors in varying conditions with safety in mind.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 60 hours toward a civil engineering, architectural engineering, architecture or construction management degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat and crawl to inspect work; ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors; and ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings.

Responsibilities

• Support Aviation project teams in the delivery of infrastructure or facilities programs.
• Assist in development or review of project plans, estimates, schedules, and procedures.
• Coordinate operations within the organizational unit to ensure policy and procedure compliance.
• Under supervision, observe contractors and perform QA activities.
• Perform non-manual field work applying knowledge to observe moderately complex construction contracts.
• Coordinate with field lead / project manager on assigned tasks.
• Record and document construction activities per contract requirements (diaries, payment reports).
• Participate in internal QA checks and review designs/drawings.
