Job summary

IA Interior Architects in Denver seeks a Senior Project Architect/Manager for its Aviation Sector to lead airport interiors programs. You will guide client relationships, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and drive high-performance space delivery from planning through commissioning.

A deep understanding of airport environments, strong stakeholder engagement, and a track record of pursuing new opportunities are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Planning, or a related discipline.
Professional licensure preferred.
12+ years of professional experience in aviation, airport, transportation, or complex public-sector projects.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and client relationships in the aviation sector.

Responsibilities

Lead strategic growth and market positioning of IA’s aviation practice with emphasis on interiors and project opportunities.
Partner with project teams and clients to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities for additional services.
Build and maintain relationships with airport authorities, airlines, terminal operators, and aviation consultants.
Identify, cultivate, and convert business-development opportunities including client outreach, proposals, interviews, and presentations.
Pursue projects across aviation interiors and architecture, including lounges, concessions, and terminal renovations.
Serve as a senior client contact and trusted advisor through the project lifecycle.
Lead or support aviation projects from planning through design, documentation, construction administration, and closeout.
Collaborate with design, strategy, and PM teams to deliver passenger-centered environments.
Guide teams through aviation requirements, stakeholder engagement, and procurement processes.
Provide leadership on scope, schedule, staffing, budget, risk, and quality control.
Stay ahead of aviation trends in passenger experience, accessibility, and sustainability.
Contribute to aviation thought leadership and external visibility.
Mentor team members and foster a collaborative project culture.
Represent IA at industry conferences and client meetings.
