Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Architectural Project Manager with an Aviation Focus to lead national aviation projects from cradle to grave. The role requires strong client relationships, mentorship, and the ability to deliver complex projects across offices and sites with a hybrid work model.

The ideal candidate will bring 15 years of aviation experience, licensed credentials, and deep knowledge of international building codes, LEED and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed/Registered Architect in the United States.
• 15 years’ experience with Aviation Projects.
• Bachelor of Architecture Degree or Master of Architecture Degree.
• Effective writer, communicator, detail-oriented designer.
• Able to work collaboratively with staff and clients on multiple projects.
• In depth knowledge of International Building Codes, NFPA, ADA, LEED, and related standards.
• Organized individual with a positive team building spirit with a collaborative one team attitude.
• Recognized aviation expertise with a strong understanding of airport/airline operations, terminal planning and design.

Responsibilities

• Serve as aviation subject matter expert, bringing industry knowledge and best practices to projects and teams.
• Provide thought leadership on evolving aviation trends, passenger experience, operations, technology, resilience and terminal design.
• Grow GFT’s aviation practice by strengthening client relationships and identifying opportunities.
• Be a client-facing representative for GFT Architecture and maintain client trust.
• Generate project scopes, schedules and budgets and achieve performance targets.
• Lead complex projects and diverse teams to serve clients and deepen relationships.
• Lead production of construction documents, drawings, specs and estimates.
• Lead the development of design concepts and presentations with clear goals and concepts.
• Coordinate work with all disciplines and supervise shop drawings and RFIs.
• Mentor emerging architectural staff and assist with proposals and RFQs/RFPs.
