Job summary

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, seeks a CAD Technician for its Aviation Planning group in Lansing, MI. The role focuses on producing civil engineering design drawings and airport-related plans, with travel and site visits expected.

Ideal candidates will have an associate degree or higher in CAD/engineering fields, 2+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency with CAD tools such as Civil 3D or Revit.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (or higher) in CAD, engineering, GIS, planning, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least 2 years or relevant experience.
• If no degree, must have at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with CAD design software, Civil 3D, and/or Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Preparing civil engineering design drawings, construction plans, and planning drawings related to airports.
• Completing design calculations.
• Collecting and reviewing data provided by teammates for inclusion in airport layout plans.
• Developing sketches for inclusion in reports.
• Preparing record drawings utilizing as-built redlines and other construction record data.
• Reviewing for quality assurance and quality control.
• Maintaining company CAD standards.
• Attending internal project meetings.
• May visit project sites to evaluate progress.
• Other tasks as assigned.
