Job summary
Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated CAD Technician to join the Aviation Planning group in our Lansing, MI office. The role focuses on preparing civil engineering design drawings and related planning documents for airport projects.
The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in CAD/engineering or GIS and at least 2 years of relevant experience; or 4+ years without a degree. Occasional site visits and approximately 5% travel are required.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in CAD, engineering, GIS, planning, or related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- If no degree, at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare civil engineering design drawings, construction plans, and planning drawings for airports.
- Complete design calculations.
- Collect and review data for airport layout plans.
- Develop sketches for inclusion in reports.
- Prepare record drawings using as-built redlines.
- Review for QA/QC and maintain CAD standards.
- Attend internal project meetings and may visit project sites.
