Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking a Supervisor I within the Aviation Department to provide first-line supervision across airport maintenance, operations, public safety and security at Sky Harbor and related airports. The role oversees staff, schedules shifts, evaluates performance, coordinates NOTAM issuance and training, and handles public inquiries.

Night shifts may be required; candidates must be able to work outside in varied conditions and irregular hours.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience in airport maintenance, operations, or technically specific areas.
• Other combinations of experience and education which meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
• Work conditions: irregular hours, second/third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings; outdoor environmental exposure.

Responsibilities

• Direct the work of staff and provide shift scheduling.
• Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback.
• Issue NOTAMs and manage emergency communications equipment training.
• Order and maintain new equipment and supplies; prepare reports.
• Handle questions and complaints from the public and conduct training.
