Job summary

Roanoke Regional Airport Commission is seeking a Full-Time Airport Operations Officer to join a fast-paced aviation team at the Roanoke site. This onsite role focuses on keeping airport operations safe, efficient, and compliant with federal regulations while supporting thousands of travelers daily.

You will collaborate with air traffic control, airlines, and multiple departments to maintain smooth operations and exceptional passenger experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required or equivalent education/experience.
• Knowledge of FAR Parts 139 and 77 and TSR Part 1542 is required.
• Experience in a Part 139 certified airport environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily airport operations and ensure compliance with federal safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections of runways, taxiways, and airport facilities.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and operational issues with professionalism.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to keep operations running seamlessly.
• Support passenger services and represent the airport with a calm, problem-solving approach.
