Job summary

Canvas is seeking a highly experienced mechanical engineer to design, develop and integrate aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems. You will oversee engineering projects and provide technical guidance for complex airframe systems in a DoD/ISR context.

Responsibilities include hardware design and analysis, feasibility studies, and development of airworthiness criteria; and performing loads, stress, and weight/balance analyses.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering with ten years in the discipline.
• Five years in DoD or USG ISR/SOF organizations.
• Alternative: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with twelve years in the discipline, five in DoD/USG.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly technical guidance for complex engineering problems on aircraft systems.
• Perform hardware design, development, integration, and analysis.
• Plan feasibility studies for design improvements and advanced tech.
• Develop Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria (TACC) or MACC criteria.
• Develop structural and corrosion repairs.
