Job summary

Canvas is seeking an experienced engineer in Crestview, Florida, specializing in the design and integration of aircraft hydraulic and mechanical systems. Candidates must have extensive experience in the DoD or relevant organizations and knowledge of airworthiness assessments.

This role requires overseeing engineering projects, proposing improvements, and developing repair standards. A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Candidates must also be physically capable of working in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience in design and integration of aircraft systems.
• Ten years of experience in a relevant field, with five in DoD or USG.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and development of engineering projects.
• Provide expertise for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft maintenance.
• Plan engineering feasibility studies for design improvements.

Skills

Experience in aircraft hydraulic/pneumatic/mechanical systems

Problem-solving skills in complex engineering tasks

Knowledge of airworthiness and loads analysis

Education

Master’s or Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering
