Job summary

Textron Aviation is seeking an Engineering Mechanical Systems Intern to develop, plan, and conduct complex aircraft mechanical system design assignments, including Hydraulics, Landing Gear/Brakes, Environmental Control, and Flight Controls.

You will use CATIA V5 for design, create 3D models, build prototypes, run lab simulations, and assist test plans and reports. The 10‑week, on‑site internship emphasizes mentorship and real project impact.

Qualifications

• Experience with FAA and/or Military processes is beneficial
• Knowledge of CAD design tool processes preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Incorporate designs using CATIA V5 design and drafting software
• 3D model development to support drawings
• Support build of prototypes for testing; run lab simulations
• Assist in creation of test plans and reports
• Create presentations to convey test results or trade studies
• Coordinate with Engineering and other functional areas
• Check peer drawings and support model management/interference checks
• Support production aircraft build coordination with Manufacturing Engineering
• Coordinate design modifications to experimental aircraft
• Assist in investigation of customer aircraft and system issues
