Job summary

Textron Aviation seeks an AES Mechanical Installations Engineer Intern to design avionics and electrical installations for jet aircraft, leveraging CATIA and related tools. You will work on installing cockpit displays, antennas, sensors, and wire bundles while applying engineering principles to analyses.

The role includes collaboration on trade studies, procedures, and certification reports, with a focus on hands-on experience and professional development in a 10-week summer program.

Qualifications

• Prefer completion of 60 hours while enrolled in BS Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and MS Office skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings for avionics and electrical installations using CAD tools (CATIA/IAI HarnesSys).
• Design installation of cockpit displays, antennas, sensors, and wire bundles.
• Perform analyses applying engineering principles.
• Assist in preparing trade studies, test procedures, certification reports, and other documents.
