Job summary

Textron Aviation Inc. offers a 10-week internship in engineering mechanical systems, focusing on flight controls and doors. The program provides hands-on experience with real projects alongside experienced engineers, including mentorship and training opportunities.

You will design using CATIA V5, develop 3D models, build prototypes, assist in test plans, and present results, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Familiar with FAA/Military certification processes.
• Experience with CAD design workflows.
• CATIA V5 experience preferred.
• Professional and diplomatic demeanor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex mechanical system designs for Textron Aviation aircraft.
• Create 3D models and drawings using CATIA V5.
• Support prototype builds and testing, including lab simulations.
• Assist in creating test plans and reports.
• Prepare presentations to convey test results and trade studies.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Tooling, and Technical Publications.
• Check drawings and support CATIA V5 model management and interference checks.
• Support production aircraft build and design interpretation with Manufacturing Engineering.
• Coordinate design modifications for testing and qualification.
• Address customer aircraft and system component issues.
