Job summary

Textron Aviation invites students to join a 2027 Internship in Engineering Mechanical Systems on Hydraulics/Gear/Brakes. You will work onsite in Wichita, contributing to real aircraft projects using CATIA V5, and developing 3D models for detailed drawings.

You will support prototype builds, lab testing, and test plans while learning FAA/military processes and CAD workflows. This paid internship emphasizes mentorship and hands-on experience, with potential pathways to future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience with CATIA V5 is preferred.
• Familiarity with FAA and/or military processes is beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate designs utilizing CATIA V5 design and drafting software.
• 3D model development in support of detail, assembly and installation drawings.
• Support build of prototypes of systems components for testing; set up and run laboratory simulations.
• Assist in the creation of test plans and reports.
• Create presentations to convey test results, design issues, or trade study recommendations.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Tooling, Technical Publications and other areas.
• Check peer drawings and support model management and interference checks.
• Support production aircraft build coordination and design interpretation.
• Coordinate design modifications for testing and qualification.
• Assist with investigations of customer aircraft and system issues.
