Job summary

Ascent Aviation Services is seeking a Materials Supervisor in Marana, AZ to lead the Shipping and Reclamations teams, ensuring accurate inventory, safe handling, and timely fulfillment for aircraft parts and materials.

You will coordinate with Reclamations and Woodshop, monitor flow from removal to shipment, and uphold compliance with OSHA, FAA, and regulatory standards while guiding daily operations and staff development.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in shipping, receiving, materials, inventory, logistics, or a related operational environment.
• Computer proficiency, including MS Excel, MS Word, and inventory management systems.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain IATA, IMDG, Radiological Hazardous Materials Shipping, & forklift certifications.
• 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
• 3+ years shipping, receiving, materials, inventory, logistics, or a related operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft parts, aviation inventory control, and relate logistics software
• Prior experience in a heavy maintenance/MRO environment
• Material Logistics coursework or experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Shipping and Receiving personnel, including hiring, training, coaching, development, performance management, and accountability for productivity, quality, accuracy, and safety.
• Oversee daily shipping operations supporting reclamation activities and external customers, coordinating priorities and ensuring timely delivery.
• Monitor material flow from aircraft removal to shipment readiness and adjust staffing to project schedules.
• Serve as primary customer focal point for shipping status, priorities, and delays.
• Maintain understanding of customer SOWs and expectations to balance service with business needs.
• Drive continuous improvement in Shipping through process optimization.
• Prepare, verify, and process outbound shipments in compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Coordinate packaging, labeling, and carrier selection for accuracy and on-time delivery.
• Ensure hazardous materials are shipped per IATA/ICAO and company requirements.
• Maintain inventories and records in ERP/MRO systems.
• Ensure completion and retention of required paperwork.
• Adhere to OSH, SMS, FAA, and company safety standards.
