Job summary

Aston Carter currently seeks an on-site Buyer in Wichita, KS to source, purchase and track materials for aircraft delivery schedules. You will coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure on-time availability and accurate inventory records, while expediting orders and resolving shortages, often supporting multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years in aviation or material/parts environment or equivalent experience.
• Experience in purchasing processes and materials tracking.
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to purchasing/workflow procedures.
• Source and purchase materials, tools, components, and GSE.
• Expedite and monitor orders with suppliers and internal operations.
• Identify critical paths for material availability and set priorities.
• Attend cross-functional meetings and report material status.
• Interface with supervisors to resolve shortages and issues.
• Maintain shortage reports and communicate risks to management.
• Create internal orders and documentation for parts requirements.
• Adjust discrepant orders and cancel items as needed.
• Create new part numbers and collaborate with suppliers for setup.
• Maintain accurate inventory transactions and records.
