Johnson Service Group (JSG) in Wichita, KS is seeking a Buyer/Planner with 3+ years of aviation or materials experience to source parts, manage supplier communication, and expedite orders to meet delivery schedules.

The role requires strong planning, collaboration with internal teams, and the ability to maintain accurate inventory records while using computers to input data and generate reports.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in aviation or material/parts environment
• Strong buyer background
• Planning and organizational skills to manage workload across multiple projects
• Interpersonal skills to work with sales, owners, counsel and other departments
• Basic knowledge of inventory planning and parts procurement
• Computers to input/retrieve data for Inventory Management
• Familiarity with aircraft parts terminology and supplier programs
• Ability to learn word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, email, and web apps
• Ability to estimate quantities to maintain stock per customer requirements

Responsibilities

• Locate and initiate purchase of materials via internal/external sources and suppliers
• Expedite status of orders and POs with suppliers and inter-company operations
• Identify critical paths and assign priorities
• Attend department meetings
• Interface with Supervisors/Managers on material problems
• Maintain shortage report and communicate status to management
• Create and issue internal orders to meet parts requirements
• Adjust discrepant orders/notes and cancel items as needed
• Create new part numbers for site-specific parts and send requests to suppliers
• Maintain accurate inventory of transactions using computerized/manual systems
• Determine priority items to ensure timely deliveries
• Order/reorder materials per aircraft delivery schedules
• Identify alternate/superseded part numbers
