Job summary

Air Methods is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic in Des Moines, IA to perform inspections, repairs, and alterations on Company-operated aircraft and components in accordance with FAA regulations and internal procedures. You will verify part numbers, maintain documentation, and actively participate in SMS improvements while maintaining a clean, professional work environment.

The role requires 2–5 years of related experience, an FAA A&P license, and the ability to work a flexible schedule

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• FAR 135 operations preferred
• Factory airframe/power plant schools preferred
• FAA A&P license in good standing
• RAMCO experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and repairs of aircraft and components in accordance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
• Verifies part numbers and serial numbers match documentation after installation or removal
• Ensures maintenance documentation complies with FAA regulations, company policies, and manuals
• Participates in the Safety Management System (SMS) continuous improvement phase (level 4)
• Maintains a clean and professional work area
• Advises PIC of maintenance issues that could take aircraft out of service
• Validates data in Status Report for the aircraft
• Requests aviation parts and supplies to maintain inventory for prompt repairs
• Other duties as assigned
