Job summary

Royal Aircraft Services, LLC in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a Director of Maintenance. This role oversees hangar/line technicians, parts personnel, and maintenance staff, coordinating with FAA, customers, and internal units.

The Director will ensure compliance with FAR 145/121/135, manage schedules, train staff, and maintain safety and quality across operations. Requires A&P certificate, a related bachelor's, and extensive maintenance leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• FAA A&P certificate required; must meet 14 CFR 65.83.
• Minimum of five years of maintenance experience in Part 121, 135, or 145 operations.
• Minimum of five years of budgetary experience overseeing assets, personnel, equipment, and facilities.
• Minimum of three years of Operations Specifications (OpSpecs) authority.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations under 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, 91, 121, 135, 145.
• Willingness to work nights/weekends with travel as needed; strong leadership and industry awareness.

Responsibilities

• Serves as liaison with the FAA Certificate Management Office on Part 145 Repair Station matters and maintains a positive FAA relationship.
• Leads and directs company policies, maintenance procedures, and FAA compliance; manages staff.
• Coordinates aircraft induction and shop schedules to maximize productivity cost-effectively.
• Trains and directs maintenance personnel in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing discrepancies.
• Ensures all work is inspected and documented per regulatory requirements before return to service.
• Ensures compliance with FAR 121, 125, 129, or 135 Continuous Airworthiness Programs and log requirements.
• Performs vendor audits and ensures regulatory compliance for each work package.
• Acts as client liaison for quotes and keeps clients updated during inspection; ensures QA at delivery.
• Oversees maintenance facility and asset upkeep, including parts rooms, vehicles, and offices.
• Conducts inventory audits and corrects FAA/auditor findings; adheres to federal regulations.
• Promotes safety and ensures training for staff; manages timecard accuracy and uniform compliance.
