Job summary

Textron is offering a hands-on summer internship in Wichita, KS for students pursuing a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. You will help design avionics and electrical system installations for single-engine and Citation Jet aircraft, using CATIA and related tools.

You'll prepare drawings, perform analyses, and support trade studies and certification reports under experienced engineers. The program runs 10 weeks, 40 hours per week, onsite, with mentorship and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings for avionics and electrical system installation using CATIA and/or IAI HarnesSys.
• Design installation of cockpit displays, remote line replacement units, antennas, sensors, wire bundles.
• Perform analyses applying engineering principles.
• Assist in preparing trade studies, functional test procedures, and certification reports.
