Job summary

Woolpert, a global leader in architecture, engineering, and geospatial services, seeks an experienced Construction Manager to join its Aviation Infrastructure team in St. George, Utah. The role focuses on overseeing construction phase services, inspection management, and client coordination for airport projects.

You will lead field teams, ensure contract compliance, and implement best practices to drive quality, safety, and project success across the western US, with approximately 60% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 15+ years of construction management or project management experience.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering and land development construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction inspection activities for infrastructure and aviation projects, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
• Lead and supervise inspection staff, providing direction, mentorship, and performance oversight.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
• Monitor contractor performance, including reviewing submittals and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
• Oversee quality of materials and workmanship, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
• Provide on-site leadership, including issuing field direction and supporting resolution of construction issues.
• Track project progress, prepare daily and weekly reports, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Develop meeting agendas, facilitate discussions, and document meeting minutes.
• Support project budgeting and scheduling efforts.
• Review certified payrolls for compliance with Davis-Bacon wage requirements.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of as-built drawings.
• Promote and enforce job site safety standards and procedures.
