Job summary

Signature Aviation in North Charleston, SC, is seeking a GSE Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot and overhaul ground support equipment and related machinery. You will service fluids, run diagnostic tests, follow manuals and ensure reliability.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, tool ownership, a valid license, and prior GSE or heavy equipment experience is preferred. You will work in an environment with safety emphasis, report issues, maintain logs, and complete required paperwork

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus one year experience or equivalent.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Prior GSE or heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Must have your own tools and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain ground support equipment used in operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair and/or overhaul ground support equipment.
• Check and service ground support equipment with fuel, water, oil and hydraulic fluid.
• Diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals.
• Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, etc., and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems.
• Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to users.
• Keep logs of work and report on issues.
